TAP Appliance
To alleviate snoring, the TAP III oral appliance moves the mandible forward while the patient sleeps. This position holds the throat open and the tongue out of the airway. TAP stands for Thornton Adjustable Positioner, and the principal behind the appliance is similar to that of CPR (cardio-pulmonary resuscitation) in that it opens the path for airflow. It simply snaps on the upper an lower teeth, and the top and bottom parts are connected by a titanium hinge. For more information, click here!
